The Great Hollow Photographers Club (GHPC) is holding a photo contest in collaboration with the Sherman Historical Society’s (SHS) American Revolutionary War Reenactment on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 10 Route 37 Center, Sherman CT, from 10 am to 4 pm.  This is a celebration of the SHS 50th Anniversary and all are invited to attend.  There will be three militia groups in costume with musket drills, cannon fire and a skirmish!  There will also be demonstrations, displays and presentations.  All are invited and photographers bring your cameras!  There is no cost to attend.  Photographs of the event can be entered into the GHPC Photo Contest.  Deadline for submissions is midnight Sunday October 5, 2025.  

All photographers are welcome to participate, regardless of age, camera gear, or photography experience.  Photos taken during the reenactment day may be submitted via bit.ly/ShermanRevWar?R=qr.  The deadline for submissions is Sunday, October 5, 2025.  There is no cost to submit.

The chosen photographs will be exhibited at the Sherman Library in January / February 2026.  The photographs may also be used by the SHS for the educational and promotional efforts.

There is no need for participants to print or frame their photos in order to enter the contest, just send in your digital files.  For the Sherman Library exhibition, the Great Hollow Photographers Club will make these arrangements as a contribution to the community in recognition of America’s upcoming 250th birthday celebrations.
