AMBER VLANGAS, MAT is an artist, certified Meditation Specialist, Mindful and Meditative Art Teacher, Restorative Circle-keeper, andSound Healer. She has always had a heart for holding space and helping others. Her work is grounded in the truth that every person has the ability to access their power, potential, and creativity when given the safety and encouragement they need to do so. Amber’s poetry has a strong theme of social justice. She skillfully uses imagery and metaphor to craft poems that make you want to take action and honor those who have.
MIKE PUGH is an urban poet who appreciates simple joys and beauties. A cynic with an interesting view on vulnerability as a strength.
SAM CROSS has her Masters of Fine Arts in poetry and a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Professional Writing. She has written poetry for 15 years and still finds a way to capture her thoughts on the page. Sam has been hosting poetry events around the area for a year now, but when she is not in town, you can find her at the local roller rink and at salsa clubs around the state.
CINDY DAVIS is a fun-loving, storyteller, puppeteer, & poet focused on activating the imagination amongst audiences of all ages. Her educational career spans 30+ years in the classroom as a reading teacher with emphasis on literacy, comprehension, & written expression. Additional training & instructional practices include GED & Dyslexia instruction. She is a resident poet at the weekly JCC Open Mic. “Wings to Fly,” a self authored puppet story debuted March 16, 2025 at the JCC.
“The Rain Comes,” debuted on July 7, 2024 at the Kent, CT library “The Land of La’ was performed on July 21, 2024 at the Kent, CT library. Her puppetry teaches the necessity for community and the need for one to be in tune with their emotions. Her poetry turns words into music as she delves into the wonders of life
