Save the Palace

Save the Palace is an original musical created by Connecticut playwright Roy O'Neil.  It has won awards at showcases and festivals in NYC and will be performed in a staged singing event at Sherman Playhouse August 21 and 22 at 8:00PM and August 23 at 2:00PM.  This will be a fundraiser event for the playhouse which needs support for a number of playhouse improvements. 

It is a story about a 60s era rock and roll band "Eddie and the Palaceades" who opened for the Beatles on their last American tour in 1966.  After the tour the Palaceades  gave up their music to raise their families. 25 years later the bandmates are empty nesters getting the band back together to do a benefit concert to raise money for the beloved Palace Theater and prevent its demolition by corrupt politicians.  But the theater is condemned and Eddie decides to run for mayor to save it.
