This Weekend is the Third Annual Sherman Community Expo 2026 on Saturday May 2, 2026 from 11-3pm on the Sherman Town Green (Rain date: May 3th). The Sherman Conservation Commission and the Sherman Commission for the Arts are hosting this event with over twenty plus Sherman arts & cultural organizations, conservation organizations and other town organizations will be on hand to tell you about their activities and to share their knowledge with you.
This is an opportunity to learn about our community organizations, their objectives, goals and activities for 2026. Some of the participating organizations include: Candlewood Lake Authority, Deer Pond Audubon Center, Great Hollow Nature Preserve, Great Hollow Photographers Club, Northwest Connecticut Land Conservancy, JCC in Sherman, Sherman Artists Association, Sherman Chamber Ensemble, Sherman Players, Sherman Commission On Aging, Sherman Social Services, Sherman Historic District, Sherman Historical Society, Sherman Library, Sherman Senior Center, Sherman Sentinel, Sherman Volunteer Fire Department, the Sherman Church, The Wild Life Line and the White Silo Farm and Winery.
There will be entertainment by musicians including: Bill and Missy Alexander, Lumos, Just the Two Girls, Don Lowe and Deb Oria and Al Burgasser.
There will be fun activities by the participating organizations, face painting, a scavenger hunt, "
build a floral bug" and more! New this year is a free raffle for a “Sherman Basket”
Hungry – there will be Jessy’s Ice Cream Truck plus the Daily Market will have a special barbeque with Hamburgers, Hot Dogs and Pulled Pork.
The Community Expo will have something for everyone, all ages and no matter if many years in Sherman, or recently moved here. In this era of online news, and social media , the focus of this Community Expo 2026 is information about the community you live in: the services that work to help you, the organizations that protect our environment and the organizations that provide the cultural structures and events that make our community special.
